ER words

ER (now 17 months) has a few words and between them and his gestures we can often figure out what he is trying to tell us.  My younger sister, her husband and their almost 9 month old visited this past weekend.  We were tying to teach ER their names.  In the end he concluded that my sister was Ima (which she calls herself) or Mommy, their son was baby or Dani and my brother-in-law was "Zayde"?!

Causation conclusions gone awry

Saturday night PJ threw up.  He had caught the bug that AM had had a few days earlier (same symptoms and yes AM had also thrown up.  PJ was going to be home for a recovery day (he had a fever previous 2 days) and he came to me while I was making my lunch this morning and announced he thinks he know why he threw up.  "What's that?" I asked.  "I think it was the green beans."  Nice try PJ- it was the germs.  I hope this doesn't ruin his taste for them... one of the few vegetables he currently eats.

Fun in the front lawn

This past weekend, AM (age 5) and I saw someone putting up games on their front lawn on the way to shul. I asked Alex what we should put on our front lawn.  He said, "a roller coaster.  And it shoulg go to Bubby's house.  There should be different sections for different age children.  A section with car seats for those under 4 year, a section with boosters for children 5, 6, 7, and 8 and a regular seat section for 9, 10 and up.  It goes ten hundred miles an hour."

I can see the next public transportation project (after the purple line) already.

New shoes

This past Sunday we went shoe shopping.

AM got new sneakers, that were Sauconys and he thinks they make him run really fast, like the boy in the Zapato book series.  He kept running and asking if we saw him run (i.e. was he so fast we didn't see him go.)

We fitted ER for his first pair of shoes since he started walking about two weeks ago.  He was walking around the shoe store just fine, but when we put the shoes on he stood there like we had glued his feet to the ground.  I guess they are heavy enough to feel different from the Robeez.  We got him walking and he looked more like he was marching with the shoes.
